Chicken Thigh Recipes
Chicken has been a popular and good choice for a low-carb diet. Indeed, it is also delicious source of high quality complete protein that contains all essential amino acids as well as Phosphorus, Vitamin B6 and Niacin.
Chicken thighs are one of the most tender and delicious parts of a chicken and there are many good and simple recipes which you learn to make nutritious and wholesome meal for your family to enjoy. You can either stir fry, bake, boil, grill or even steam them to create delicious meals which are great when eaten with cooked rice or noodles.
Ingredients:
- 3 lbs chicken thighs
- 6 oz lean bacon slab, cut into lardons
- 1 bottle of red wine
- 18 pearl onions, peeled
- 1 garlic clove, peeled
- 1 bouquet garni
- 1 parsley, chopped
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/8 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon pepper
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine and mix the chicken thighs, salt and pepper.
2. In a skillet, add in the bacon lardons and some water. Bring to a boil and blanch them for 5 minutes. Drain the lardons and place them in another bowl.
3. In another skillet, melt 4 tablespoon of butter. Add in the chicken thighs and brown both sides. Remove the chicken thighs and place them in a bowl. Add in the lardons you have blanched earlier as well as the onions and let it cook for 10 minutes. Be sure to stir occasionally.
4. Return the chicken thighs in the skillet with the lardons earlier and pour in the red wine as well as the garlic and bouquet garni. Cover and let it simmer for 1 hour.
5. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve over cooked rice.
