Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs

Honey garlic chicken thighs are a popular favorite among children and adults alike. Honey and garlic make a good combination in many recipes so be sure that you use quality honey to bring out that sweetness in your cooking. To make these chicken thighs lower in fat, simply remove the skins before serving.

Below is the recipe for making honey garlic chicken thighs at home:

Ingredients:

  • 5 chicken thighs
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 6 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1 cup plus 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small can frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, add in the chicken thighs and vinegar. Let it marinate at room temperature for 1 hour.

2. In a frying pan, add in the butter and let it melt before adding the onion and garlic then sauté all of them for 3 minutes.

3. Remove the frying pan from heat and transfer its contents into a saucepan. Stir in the honey and vinegar then bring to a boil.

4. Add in the juice then immediately reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Be sure to stir frequently to prevent the bottom from sticking.

5. Remove the saucepan from heat and store it in the fridge because you want the sauce mixture to cool down and thicken.

6. Now remove the chicken thighs from the marinade and be sure to reserve some marinade which you will be using later for basting.

7. Sprinkle the chicken thighs on both sides with salt, paprika and pepper.

8. Now it's the time to cook the chicken thighs. Light the grill and cook the chicken for 20 minutes over medium heat with the skin side up. Be sure to turn and baste frequently with the marinade which you reserved earlier.

9. Continue cooking for another 20 minutes while turning and basting the chicken thighs with honey garlic sauce.

10. Serve and enjoy.
